Vic Scott (Judo Black belt/BJJ Purple Belt) started martial arts training 1990 at the famous Moss Side boxing club ‘Champs Camp’. After training there for 2 years and having 10 amateur boxing matches (9-1-0) he went to University in London and started to train in Thai Boxing. Vic practiced Thai for another 7 years during which time he won several local titles and a British title. Due to injuries sustained in Thai Vic looked to the grappling scene to satisfy his hunger for the fighting arts and opted for submission wrestling in 2000. He started to train in Wythenshawe with the notorious Barry ‘The Bastard’ Scargill where he added to his success in Thai by winning 3 British titles at Heavyweight. Due to the publicity BJJ was getting at the time (mainly due to UFC coverage) Vic switched to BJJ and after 2 years in this martial art gained the Heavyweight European title in 2005. After achieving silver in the defence of his title the year after Vic noticed that the stand – up side of BJJ was weak, and added Judo training to his BJJ. He gained his black belt after just 1.5 years and is currently training with the GB Judo team to help them in their preparation for the 2008 Olympic game!
