WKC Tournament (June 2010)

6th June 2010 - Kickboxers from Elite International Martial Arts (EIMA) Bramhall, stormed to victory in the World Kickboxing Council Championship achieving 5 medals, at the George Carnall Sports Centre, Urmston.

The ‘Fight Night’ saw clubs from all over the UK send their best fighters to Urmston to compete in matched bouts of Kickboxing. Hundreds of spectators turned out to support the fighters who battled it out in pairs to be crowned champions.

Students from Bramhall’s E.I.M.A Kickboxing brought home 5 medals from the WKC British Championship including a gold medal for both, Andrew Morris (16) from Heald Green and Jorden Robertshaw (23) from Stockport.

2 sliver medals for Craig McCall (21) from Bramhall and Neil Sass (31) from Stockport and a bronze for Aimee Neild (12) from Hazel Grove.

EIMA Instructor Craig Reid “Everyone at EIMA has trained so hard for the championship. It’s an important date in our calendar and we’re so proud of the students.” EIMA Instructor Chris Oakley continued “It’s an amazing achievement that we’ve obtained 5 medals for the club. Hopefully our success will inspire other people to take up kickboxing.”

Isle of Man Fight Night 09

On the 25th of April Douglas (Isle of Man) hosted it's first ever kickboxing fight night. Fighters from all over the Northwest where invited to compeat. The event was a black tie night in the Hilton Hotel. Two competetors from E.I.M.A Kickboxing based at Bramhall Recreation Centre where fighting. Craig Reid was up 1st and fought a local lad who was 10kg heavier. Craig dominated the 1st round and referee had to stop the fight in the second for the other fighters safety. Jorden Robertshaw then fought another local lad and dominated both rounds both rounds for an easy victory. All in all the Elite team (Lee Charles, Lee Thackrah and Mark Worth) won all there fights on the night and put on a great display. Well Done to all the team!!!

ISKA English Championship (March 09)

Craig came got Silver medal in Birmingham after loosing in the Final by split decision. With this result he has qualified for the English squad and can go and compete at the European championships in Rome (Oct 09).

Guinness World Record Attempt: Martial Arts Marathon

On Friday 21st of November 9 people from from Martial Arts Club around Manchester took part in a world record attempt organised by Greater Manchester Police to raise money for Clic Sargent (Cancer Charity). The event took place at MANCAT, Nicholla Campus, Arwick, Manchester.

The Guinness World Record was for the longest martial arts class ever. The aim was to try and do 36hrs with only one 5min break every hour. Lots of different instructors took part, from different styles including Karate, Kickboxing, Tyquondo, Ju jitsu, Kungfu, Judo and MMA. 4 people from a local club Kickboxing club in base at Bramhall Recreation Centre took part Craig Reid 2nd DAN, Jordan Robertshaw 1st DAN, Stuart Kennedy 4th DAN and Chris Gill 1st DAN.

Black Belt grading (November 08)

Chris Gill and Mark Chaterton pass there 1st Dan Belt belt grading with flying colours after a very hard day at the North West Martial Arts Academy. Well Done to all the students who took part!!!

Xmas Break

The Club will be closed from the 19th December 2008 - 5th January 2009. The 1st lesson back will be on the 6th January.

Fight Night (April 08)

At the fight night held in Wakefield Will Johnson won his third fight in a row by beating Piers Laverick in Spectacular stile.
His best performance yet. WELL DONE!!!!

WKA British Champianship (March 08)

Craig came in 3rd place at the national tournament. He won 2 fights to get into the semi final lost by split decision to the eventual winner.

EIMA in the Stockport Express (February 08)

Chris and Craig are in the paper with 1st Bramhall Scouts. They have been teaching the scouts kickboxing and self defence to help get them fit after xmas.

Fight Night (November 07)

Will Johnson won his second fight in a row with a great performance against his opponent in Wakefield. Also Jon Santry put in an excellent display to win against Sean Long. Well done to both fighters. Keep it up!!

Fight Night (2nd June 07)

Will Johnson, Chris Oakley and Craig Reid won their respective bouts at ACE gyms in Stockport after putting on spectacular performances against an array of talent from all over the North. It was a great evening for the audience and an even better night for EIMA as everyone walk away with a trophy. A big WELL DONE goes to Will for winning his first fight.
